My abstract painting was inspired by the way I felt that day. I was in a good mood and I thought that if I used happy, bright colors it would describe my feelings towards the project. I came up with the idea of doing splatter paint because I’ve always liked the look of splatter paint (like Jackson Pollock) and I like how the colors mixed on the canvas. I added water to the paint to make the paint run down the canvas more and mix, creating other colors. I thought of the name of my painting, “Food Fight,” because it reminded me of colorful food and it seemed messy; representing a lunch food fight.
When I began the project, I didn’t want to add much to it. I just liked it with not a lot of paint on it. Although, as I went on and added more to it I liked it better than when I started. I’m not too happy with the end product but I think it’s much better than the first picture.
